Renting Textbooks

Category: General,Related — Y.B. MASDAL @ 1:00 am

There are many reasons for renting textbooks. For the first reason, it is just practical. More often than not, you will never use or read your textbooks after you are finished with your semester. Rarely will a situation come up when you will have to look for your textbook for a tidbit of information. Especially with the internet providing so much more information than any other book has to offer, it would be useless to actually own a book forever.

Another reason is because it is economical. Nowadays, getting a college degree is extremely costly. You have to pay for your living expenses and all the miscellaneous expenses that you may incur during the school year. For all this, not having to purchase textbooks that can amount to thousands of dollars is a huge advantage for cash-strapped students. It is simply the better alternative because rent usually comes at less than ten percent of the original price. Your only responsibility is to take care of it return it in good condition.
These are basically the main reasons why people would even bother renting textbooks. It gives them so much more financial flexibility that could be used to rent out more textbooks, live more comfortably or spend it on other, more productive things.

It truly is a great thing to see the educational system coming up with different ways to enhance the student experience while trying to bring down costs. At the end of the day, if more people can receive a proper education, it can only mean good things for the future.

Online Job Search Safety

Identity Theft
With the economy at an all time low, even criminals are going high-tech in their attempts to rob you of your hard-earned money. Posting your resume online haphazardly is one of the targets of such criminals for they contain information that can be used in identity theft. Information regarding you should be considered confidential except for some general ones such as your name and employment history. Even your address and financial information can be leeched from servers by hackers so don’t just send them out anywhere.
Delete old ones from job search sites so you don’t leave yourself open to attack from cyber-criminals. If you still have a job, manage your credit cards and other financial information as if your life depends on it for the definition of “you” can be assumed by somebody else with all the information you have on the net.
